Volunteer Opportunities

There are many exciting ways to volunteer with Groundwork Dallas, and get involved hands-on with the Trinity River Project. As we build more and more trail infrastructure in the Great Trinity Forest, we also build a greater need for volunteers to help us to maintain those trails and other amenities.

One of the cornerstones to improving access to the Great Trinity Forest calls for enhancing communities with greenspace improvement projects. Things like tree plantings along sidewalks and in medians, and clearing gutters and trimming shrubs, what can be referred to as “curbside appeal”, go a long way towards enhancing community pride and improving economic impact in the communities surrounding the Great Trinity Forest.

We also host an annual, city-wide Trinity River Cleanup bash, Operation A.C.T. (A Clean Trinity) around Earth Day. Volunteers from around the city descend upon the banks of the Trinity River at various locations along its 18-mile stretch through Dallas. To date, volunteers have helped clean up over 15 tons of trash on the Trinity River.

Whether you have a church, corporate, scouting, neighborhood, service learning or youth group, we can accommodate any size and any day of the week. Just give us a call with your schedule and we will find a volunteer project that suits your needs.
