               The Texas Buckeye Trail                 

Trail Description:

The Texas Buckeye Trail is a level, soft service nature trail that meanders gently through the Great Trinity Forest to destinations that include the Trinity River Overlook, the Texas Buckeye Grove (Texas Buckeyes usually bloom in March) and the White Rock Creek Overlook. Each path will lead you to its overlook destination through a deep forest that includes mature Bur Oak, Cedar Elm and Pecan trees. Hiking the entire Buckeye Trail network and returning to the trailhead offers the hiker a 6+ mile hike.  www.texasbuckeyetrail.org

 

Driving Directions:

From the North (US-75 or Central Expressway)
Take Central (US-75) South just past downtown and Exit Kaufman US-175.
Follow US-175 through the "big curve" and exit Right on Bexar St. Follow 
Bexar St. to the right all the way south to the  cul-de-sac. Park in the cul-de-sac. 
Cross the footbridge and go up and over the Levee. Enter the forest at the 
fiberglass trail marker
 
From the East or West (I-30)
Exit South on I-45 near downtown and immediately exit US-175 Kaufman. Follow US-175 through the "big curve" and exit Right on Bexar St. Follow Bexar St. to the right all the way south to the cul-de-sac. Park in the cul-de-sac. Cross the footbridge and go up and over the Levee. Enter the forest at the fiberglass trail marker
 
From the Southwest (I-45, I-20)
Exit North to I-45 from I-20 eastbound. Follow north to Loop12 and exit East.  
Take Loop-12 one short block and exit North on Hwy-310.  Follow Hwy-310 
north to US-175. Exit East on US-175 and immediately turn Right at the Bexar 
St. exit.  Follow Bexar St. to the right all the way south to the cul-de-sac. Park 
in the cul-de-sac. Cross the footbridge and go up and over the Levee. Enter 
the forest at the fiberglass trail marker.
 
From the Southeast (I-20 or US-175)
Exit North on Hwy-310 coming from I-20 westbound and follow Hwy-310 north 
to US-175. Exit East on US-175 and immediately turn Right at the Bexar St. 
exit.  Follow Bexar St. to the right all the way south to the cul-de-sac. Park in 
the cul-de-sac. Cross the footbridge and go up and over the Levee. Enter the 
forest at the fiberglass trail marker.
